Tips for Your Interview
|
- Be punctual,
preferably 5-10 minutes early.
- Use positive
body language: a firm handshake; direct eye contact; confident voice,
and gestures; pleasant smile.
- Research
the company beforehand and come with a prepared list of questions to
ask. Focus on the company's needs, not yours. Let your interviewer know
why you want this job . . . not just any job.
- Answer
questions succinctly, directly, and honestly. Focus on the positive,
not the negative. It's okay to talk about your lack of experience in
the job interview, but stress the other qualities you bring to the employer.
- Always
mail, fax, or e-mail a thank
you letter to all those with whom you interviewed. Gear each letter
to the individual and the conversation you had.
